What are Welhome 300 Cotton Tencel Lyocell Sateen Sheets Made of?

Welhome 300 Cotton Tencel Lyocell Sateen Sheets are made of 55% cotton and 45 %
Tencel lyocell. Cotton fibers are naturally soft, strong, cool, breathable, and absorbent. These fibers are made through a process known as spinning.

Tencel lyocell fibers are soft and sustainable. They are made from wood pulp, which is dissolved in a chemical solvent then pushed through an extruder to form the fibers. Tencel is wrinkle-resistant, absorbent, and cooling.

In a nutshell, these sheets are made of 55% cotton and 45% Tencel yarns. This fabric (sheet) is sateen woven. This weave delivers the look of satin and all the benefits of cotton. Their thread count is 300, but the company explains that the real quality test is not the thread count but rather the fibers’ length.

Our Welhome 300 Cotton Tencel Lyocell Sateen Sheets review

Product reviews are basically the opinions or feedback of customers for a particular product. As a customer, you should always read the reviews of the product you desire to buy as you cannot always rely on advertisements. Reviews are essential to both the company and to you ( As the customer). They help the company grow and improve on how they serve their customers.

Our concern right now is you (the customer). Why should you read the reviews? Well, in the reviews, you will learn first-hand experience from the real users. You will also know whether it is worth using your dollar on the product. You will further learn about the company’s credibility because reviews build trust. On some websites like amazon, you can see how different features of the products are rated.

Reviews are written based on various aspects of the product. Our review is based on; comfort, quality, eco-score, cooling, and easy maintenance of the faint blue and white set of sheets we bought. Read below to learn how each of these features scored out of 10.

Comfort ( 8.0/10)

Comfortable sheets ensure you sleep soundly and wake up well relaxed and rested. We found these sheets very soft and comfortable. What we loved most is that these sheets are breathable and cool. These sheets also seemed like silk, but after lying on them, we found them exceptionally smooth yet so soft and breathable. That silky feel is so soothing that we did not feel like stepping out of that bed. We found ourselves looking forward to bedtime, which is a great feeling.

These sheets unfortunately pulled on our Tempurpedic king size deep mattress. We did not like that sometimes we had to keep adjusting them back over the edges because it is annoying. For this, we rated comfort at 8.0 out of 10.

Quality ( 8.7/10)

We can say that the quality of these sheets was worth the dollars we spent on them. These sheets are soft, breathable, and cool. These sheets are sheen and looked extremely great on our bed because of their smooth and silky look. What blew us away was the faint blue color we ordered. This color blended with our bedroom and completely transformed it close to a 5-star hotel look.

Though these sheets get softer after a few washes, they still wrinkle and cannot use them without ironing. For this reason, we rated the quality of these sheets at 8.7 out of 10. The company says that these sheets are durable, but we can not talk much about their durability because we have only used them for a few weeks. We feel the company is honest.

Eco-Score (8.0/10)

When we purchased these sheets, we were more into their other features than their eco-friendly feature. But, this did not stop us from doing our research on their eco-impact. Since these sheets are made of 55% cotton and 45% Tencel, we researched both separately. This is what we found out.

Cotton has a relatively negative impact on the environment. Cotton fibers are made from cotton plants. They are produced through a process known as the spinning process. During cultivation, irrigation and pesticides contribute to toxic substances that damage both human health and the ecosystem.

Tencel, on the other hand, is made from wood pulp, which is sustainably grown. These Tencel lyocell fibers are produced in a closed-loop process that reuses and recycles 99% water and chemical solvent. This has no negative impact on our mother earth.

Because these sheets are made from both cotton( whose impact to the environment is negative) and Tencel (whose impact is not detrimental), we rated these sheets eco-score at 8.0 out of 10.

Cooling (8.6/10)

We have used 100% Tencel sheets before, which were incredibly cooling. After reading the description that these sheets are 55% cotton and 45% Tencel, I became reluctant to order them because I am a hot sleeper. To be honest, these sheets exceeded my expectations. I have not slept hot, even a single day with these sheets. They are incredible!

The score is 8.6 out of 10 because sometimes I slept too cold or too warm (not hot though).

Easy Maintenance (8.1/10)

We could say that these sheets’ care and maintenance routines are not far different from those we used before. We machine-washed them on a normal cycle, tumble dried on medium, and removed them from the drier immediately as per the companies directions.

What frustrated us is that these sheets came out wrinkled, and the stained white sheet still had the stain. Before storing them, we had to iron them, which is not a favorite chore. If you hate ironing, you better look elsewhere. For this, we rated these sheets maintenance at 8.1 out of 10.

Final verdict 8.3

Based on the above rating of these features, the average rating is 8.3. This shows that these sheets are way beyond and better than the average cotton sheets we have used before. We could recommend these sheets if you are looking for silky smooth yet soft, breathable, and comfortable sheets.

If you hate ironing, you will not love these sheets. You might also get the right size for your sheets, which was not the case with my Tempurpedic king size mattress (you can try and be more specific with your dimensions). You can also try to choose another color rather than the white, which I ordered to avoid staining.
