Odors are an unfortunate part of our everyday life. With the advent of industrialization, we are continually plagued with several odors from just about everywhere. I recently moved into the city with my old college roommate and had to deal with lots of lingering smells from my new apartment’s previous owners. Although the complex manager promised to do something about the smoke smells in the apartment, I doubt he ever got to it. There is a high chance the former occupants dealt pot – well, I wasn’t ready to deal with that.

I must have recanted my woes to everyone ready to listen as recommendations on what to do started pouring in. After trying out scented candles for a few weeks, I got tired of cleaning scented wax every morning and decided to go for an odor absorber gel. Luckily, Smells Begone Odor Absorber Gel was right on my list.

Asides from being fragrance-free, there are other tidbits that you should be aware of about this product. If you are ready to get rid of pot smells or any other lingering odor in your home and office, let’s check out this review together, shall we?

Scent (7.2/10)

I might not have been able to live in my apartment without this product. My pets urinate all over the place, and it stinks. I have used Smells Begone Odor Absorber gel consistently for about two months, and the house smells clean. Although the product is fragrance-free, it clears up the lingering smells in the air nicely. The product is available in liquid sprays, which have a subtle tropical scent. When I applied the spray, the fragrances didn’t last as long as I expected. I have used some air fresheners in the past that left me feeling nauseous. Unscented Smells Begone Odor absorber gel is such a relief.

After checking online reviews, I realized that this product had a lavender-scented variety, which would be perfect for my bathroom. Although I was skeptical about the concentration of the fragrance, I tried it out. Some customers complained that the scent lasts for a few days. While that might be an issue for them, it’s a pure relief for me. I believe 7.2 is the perfect score to describe the scent of Smells Begone Odor Absorber gel.

Longevity (7.6/10)

Compared to most absorber gels and liquid spray air fresheners that I have come in contact with, Smells Begone Odor Absorber stands out with a difference. I’d admit I’m somewhat biased with fragrance-free air fresheners, but I tested both the fragrance-free and scented varieties of this product, and it works well enough. I would advise that you limit the use to a small space, or get more than one if you need to. You should also ensure that you place the tub in the open air; otherwise, you won’t get any results.

I’m partial to the fresh cotton scent, which is easy to use as every other variety of this product and lasts a very long time with a pleasant, clean scent. This is an excellent room deodorizer; I’ve purchased it several times and will continue to do so, at least till I find a more fantastic product – which I doubt considering my history with air fresheners. With several analyses and metrics evaluations, I believe 7.6 is a perfect t score to describe the longevity of Smells Begone Odor Absorber.

Odor Elimination (6.4/10)

This works quite alright. I have eliminated the lingering oil smells in my basement, but cat droppings seem challenging to clear. I’d have opted for heavily scented fragrances, but I don’t want to use anything in my house that might be dangerous to myself or my pets. I tried using two tubs of this odor absorber last week – perhaps that will do the trick in clearing out the remaining smells.
Frankly, this is the best product for eliminating pet smells. You may need to use more than one if the odors have been around for a while, but it works reasonably well. I also noticed that you need to replace the tubs as soon as they are exhausted; otherwise, you may be left with a stale smell.

Additionally, this product’s scent might be off-putting to dachshunds as mine has avoided the spot where the tubs are placed. In all, I will score the odor elimination effect of Smells Begone Odor Absorber gel at 6.4

Value for Money (6.6/10)

This product is a great fit, especially if absorber gels are your thing. I particularly enjoy the way the tub blends into the background and is barely noticeable. Nonetheless, I’d have preferred if the branded tags had a duller color. Although Smells Begone Odor Absorber gel works well enough to remove any smell in your home or office, you may need more than one or two to clear out some strong odors. Considerably, this does not align with the promises made in the product’s numerous ads.

It works well in small spaces and might be suited for just that. Regardless, I enjoy the cool forest scent I have in my closets because of the product, and thankfully it doesn’t hang off on my clothes; I still enjoy smelling like myself. Summarily, I would peg the score for this aspect of the product at 6.6

Final Score 7.0

With all the views we have earlier presented on Smells Begone Odor Absorber gel’s differing aspects, it is safe to pitch our final score at 7.0. Of course, we could have gone higher or lower, but carefully analyzing each section discussed explicitly explains how and why we arrived at this final verdict.

Although this product might not be the best fit for anyone looking for heavily scented air fresheners, it is perfect enough to clean up any lingering smells in your room. By the way, my apartment is free from pot smells, and I can invite my girlfriend’s family for dinner. Sounds great, right?
